Book Review : Knitted Tales

KnittedTales_n.jpg

Book- Knitted Tales: A collection of emotions
Author- Rubina Ramesh

Format : e-book

It’s not just a book, its collection of short books/stories.
Each story deserve their own reviews/stars.
Some I simply loved, some were good, some were fine. ❤
Every story had a deep human emotion, and kept readers beautifully binded till the end of story.
Stories are not very short, not very long. They are just about the perfect size, to keep readers intrigued about what going to happen next.

It’s the debut book of blogger, book marketing and author Rubina Ramesh. And she has done amazing while weaving each story with correct amount of emotions.

The tittle of tales

A Secret in Their Closet
Betrayal
Chicklet
Forgive me
Lolita
No regrets
SuvarnaRekha
The Little Godmother
The Missing Staircase
The Other Woman
Daddy hear me out
Cliff notes

The book has 12 tales, and my favorites have been quite a few. The first one ‘A Secret in Their Closet’ gave me jitters, to what it’s about. and after it reveled I was all soaked in emotions..

My personal favorite is Cliff Notes, it’s so precious to see how mountains feel about humans. It’s from their perspective, and its Great one.
Others being, The Missing Staircase, The little Godmother .. ❤

She was someone’s dream and someone’s lust. She was someone’s passion and someone’s curse. Yet no one knew her nor did anyone dare to come near her.

– Lolita

Just tell him, Everest freed you.
He knows me…

– Cliff notes

“Where the heck is the staircase?” I shouted.’
….
“Why are you searching for it?” he asked, his voice hoarse, from lack of use perhaps.
“I need to sit on it and remember the innocent days of my life”

– The Missing Staircase

Lying and cheating is not good. I won’t recommend it to any housewife. But if there is a moment when I have to choose to lie to save my marriage and sanity, I will do it all over again.

– Ne Regrets

Day 2 : Discovering India Readathon

Day 2 : A book written in any Indian Language (translated or otherwise)

IMG_20170812_002404_908

Nirmala by Premchand is my book for Day 2 #DiscoveringIndiaReadathon. I read this in Hindi my native language.

This book was first published in 1899. This novel revolves around the topic, those were more prominent in those time.

  1. Dowry
  2. Marriage or young girl, with a old man.

This book kept me on feet, and as it was in Hindi . I & my maa both read it turn by turn. My maa is very frequent in reading Hindi, so it helped me to complete this one fast. ❤

~ Full review will be posted in coming week.

Day 1 : Discovering India Readathon

Day 1 : A book set in Pre-independence era

midnightChildren

Midnight’s Children from Salman Rushdie was my first book on Day 1 of #discoveringIndiaReadathon challenge.

The book was first published in 1995 and revolves around a boy named Saleem Sinai who is born among many children on Midnight hour on the precise moment when India got Independence.

This is a slow read, and consisting of 428 pages. I wasn’t able to complete the book on Day1, so this still remains to be read again. Once the readathon is finished, or someday between if I finish another book pretty soon.

~ The review will be posted once the book is completely finished.

Feel free to follow me in this readathon on insta Neha

Book Review : Spoilt for Choice

DSC_0693_CH - Copy.jpg

Book- Spoilt For Choice
Author- Dr. Poornansha Shrivastava
Publisher- HALF BAKED BEANS

Paperback Price – 189/- (Discounted price)
Pages- 210

The cover pic, displays what the books is about.
Its love vs passion. Some people go in a tug-of-war between love & passion. There is a couple on top (LOVE), and in reflection there is a boy racing a bike(PASSION). Also looking more closely to cover pic the motor bike traces covers the image.

It’s a love story of Samarth, who fell in love at first sight with Sachi. How they come together, and then goes apart is the story about. Pursing his under graduation study as dentist, he manages to pursue his passion as motorsport racer. Which he developed in his teens while taking part in illegal racing.
A story how Samarth competes among 200 Riders to participate in motorcycle racing that is conducted every season till the final round that leads to one champion.

The story gives us a deep insight of what fails in long distance relationships. Samarth’s relationship with Sachi goes for a toss when he is not able to give the time she needs. And in between she keeps on using Samarth, and goes into relationship with more than one person other than Samarth.

Here is what I loved about Story,
1. The friendship shown between Samarth, and his friends. They are always available in his highs, in his lows.
2. If a person take his passion seriously, he can achieve it.
3. How the author, Poornansh Shrivastava has used casual talks between friends.
4. How the author, has detailed the entry, journey of his motorsport career.

However, there are certain loopholes in story, and grammatical errors.

Author is a Dr. and a Racer, for that I would like to give this 4/5.

The book was provided by Half Baked Beans(HBB) in exchange for a genuine review.

This is a semi-autobiographical by the author. This book will definitely be appreciated by motorsports people.

Its a Gooooood Day..!!

filFrnd_p

Not everyday we wake up, we feel like we can win over the world. But on the days we don’t, the difference is our attitude towards it.

Lets give life it’s chance and enjoy every moment it brings.

To Who may ever it reaches,

Have a great day..!!
